Badulla water supply scheme inaugurated
The renovation activities of the Badulla water supply scheme under
the guidance of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and at the request of
Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva was
inaugurated by the Minister of Water Supply and Drainage A.L.M. Athaulla
recently.
This project will cost Rs. 21 million and nearly 2,000 families in
Galkande, Oliyamandiya, Rideepana, Pitapola, Gurupura, Upland,
Suwinithagama, Medapatana, Judges Hill, Southern Park, Pinnalanda,
Alugolla and Katupalella villages will be benefited.
The water supply schemes managed by Hali-Ela Pradeshiya Sabha and
Hali-Ela Navodaya Community Centre was handed over to the Board at the
request of Port Development Minister Dilan Perera.
Water Supply and Drainage Minister A.L.M. Athaulla graced the
occasion. These two projects will provide drinking water to nearly 1,500
families in the suburbs and town areas of Badulla city.
