Road construction to be expedited

The first stage of the Colombo Outer Circular Highway project starting from Kottawa to Kaduwela will begin soon with the land acquisition process being entered into the final phase.

This road which is 28Km in length is to be constructed from Kottawa to Kerawalapitiya under three stages.

The procurement process for the second stage from Kaduwela to Kadawatha is going on and identification of lands for the families who will be evacuated due to this project is being carried out by Road Development Authority officials.

The project aimed at easing traffic in the Colombo city have interchanges for Colombo-Kandy road, , Kelaniya–Mudungoda road, Peliyagoda-Puttalam Road, Colombo–Ratnapura High Level and Low Level roads and proposed Colombo-Katunayake and Colombo-Kandy Expressways.
