IGP visits Vavuniya police division

Inspector General of Police Jayantha Wickremaratne recently visited the Vavuniya Police Division to meet the Police personnel who took part in the war against terrorism and their family members.

The IGP distributed several gifts to the members of the war heroes who scarified their lives during the war, disabled police personnel and to 38 retired police personnel. IGP Wickremaratne also participated in an opening ceremony of a "Budu Medura" in the Vavuniya Police Division.

Police Seva Vanitha Unit President Anoma Goonetilleke Wickremaratne also associated with the IGP and the other Senior Police Officers during the visit to Vavuniya Police Division. Floral tributes were offered to a large number of police personnel who sacrrificed their lives in the war.

The IGP with several other Senior Police Officers visited Omanthai, Mannar and Welioya areas and met the Police personnel who are incharge of respective police stations.A member of a Police officer who scarified the life receiving gift parcel from the IGP.
