Peradeniya New VC

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed Professor Sarath Abeykoon as the new Vice-Chancellor of Peradeniya University.

Professor Abeykoon had earlier served in the same campus as Dean of the Engineering Faculty for four and a half years and is also a member of the University Grants Commission. He was also the Sri Lankan representative of the Committee appointed by Eight Member SAARC countries to set up a South Asian University.
