Science College clinch Matale Schools six-a-side tourney

Government Science College, Matale created a major upset when they
defeated their traditional rivals and the more fancied St. Thomas
College, Matale by 22 runs to clinch the Matale District Cricket
Association’s President’s Trophy in the finals of the Matale Schools
six-a-side cricket tournament played at the Bernard Aluwihare Stadium in
Matale.
The results from the semi-finals:
Government Science College beat Weerakeppetipola Central College,
Akuramboda by four wickets. Weerakeppetipola Central College 49 for 4 in
5 overs (P. Fernando 28, K. Dharmasiri 19, N. Tilina 1 for 7, H.

St. Thomas College beat Christ Church College by four wickets.
