Bahrain best place for international business - MTI

Having lived and operated international businesses from Bahrain for the past 19 years, MTI's Chief Executive Hilmy Cader is perhaps in the best situation to evaluate Bahrain as a centre to operate an international business.

"Having evaluated many international business centres to live and operate from, Bahrain has continued for many compelling reasons, some almost unparalleled to other international centres.

Overall, Bahrain is an extremely business friendly, multi-cultural, cosmopolitan society, where we have never felt as foreigners! The people of Bahrain are hospitable and among the most competent and strongest work ethic in the Middle East. There is a compelling business case" said Hilmy Cader, who manages the MTI international network from Bahrain.

Bahrain encourages and permits 100 percent foreign ownership in many sectors and has a very efficient one-stop market entry process.

Almost 99 percent of the business dealings are in English and is supported by modern infrastructure of roads, ports and telecom. Bahrain has continued to occupy a place among the top 3 in the world in terms of the most economically free country in the world (Heritage Foundation, Wall Street and UN).

The island is linked by a 27 km bridge to the most lucrative market in the region (Saudi Arabia) has been ranked among the best in the world for human development index.

The proposed friendship bridge to Qatar is further expected to strengthen Bahrain as the regional hub.

Bahrain's considered the Islamic Banking Hub of the World and is the region's offshore banking centre.
