Three interdicted over wrong question paper

The Polonnaruwa Zonal Education Director Piyaseeli Jayasinghe, the Subject Director of Buddhism, the Teachers Instructor of Buddhism, Ven. K. Wimalaratana Thera and P. Wickrmasinghe respectively have been interdicted with immediate effect, over the issue of wrongly prepared Buddhism question paper at the recent provincial second term test.

At a urgently convened press conference yesterday at the North Central Chief Ministerial auditorium, the Chief Minister and the Provincial Education Minister said that it has been decided at a prompt initial inquiry these three officials were solely responsible for the serious errors appearing in the Buddhism question paper. The Chief Minister didn't rule out sabotage in this issue.

He revealed that the draft question paper has not been scrutinised or rechecked for any error or mistakes before entrusted for printing.

A full scale inquiry is being conducted by a team of top ranking education administrative officials.
