Rs. 100m robbery:

Two suspects remanded

Two special police teams have been deployed to nab the suspects involved in the Rs. 100 million robbery from two private banks last Tuesday, Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said.

An armed gang in military attire waylaid the vehicle carrying the money and committed the robbery at gunpoint at Diyagampola in the Kotadeniyawa area.

Police arrested three suspects within 24 hours and recovered part of the stolen cash along with a trishaw and a motorcycle. Three suspects who were arrested by the Police were remanded by Minuwangoda Magistrate. Sources said four security personnel are being questioned by the police in connection with the robbery.
