D. S. Senanayake College was the lucky winner as they carried away
the Desktop Computer with M3 high speed internet connection at the
monthly draw for the school nominee of the Observer-Mobitel Schoolboy
Cricketer of the Year 2009 contest.
The awards presentation took place at the Lake House Board Room
yesterday under the patronage of Leisha de Silva Chandrasena,
Chairperson of Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel.
The special draw was on coupon number two. The principal sponsor, Sri
Lanka Telecom Mobitel is also offering additional prizes apart from
computers for schools -two Mobitel mobile phones each week as readers’
prizes.
The Principal of D. S. Senanayake College Asoka Senani Hewage who is
also the President of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association received
the Desktop Computer from the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel
Leisha de Silva Chandrasena.
The Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka Telekom Mobitel Suren J.
Amarasekera speaking on this occasion stated that they decided to make
this presentation considering the importance of this period which has
been declared as the year of Information Technology.
He further noted that this presentation will be of great value to the
school in their attempt to further enhance their ICT capability.
He also believe that through this presentation there will be an
overall increase in the popularity of the Schoolboy Cricketer contest.
Also present on this occasion were Chairman Associated Newspapers of
Ceylon Limited (ANCL) Bandula Padmakumara, Director Editorial ANCL Nihal
Ratnaike and Editor Sunday Observer Dinesh Weerawansa. |
