Project for supply, installation, testing commission of laundry
equipment under Belgium assistance
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Healthcare and
Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, to appoint a Negotiation
Committee and a Project Committee to evaluate the proposal in terms of
the Government Procurement Procedures as instructed by external
resources department and to provided funds under consolidated budget
2010 to absorb its financing of infrastructure, local taxes, duties and
staff remuneration and to appoint project staff using the project funds
to monitor the project implementation as per Government regulation
application for foreign funded projects.
Reform of Muslim Matrimonial Law and upgrading Quazi Courts
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Justice and Law
Reforms Minister Milinda Moragoda to appoint a committee to consider and
propose reforms to the Muslim matrimonial law and the system of Quazi
Courts.
Special Drawing Rights of 50.4 million from the International
development Association
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Finance & Planning
Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to enter into a Financing Agreement with the
International development Association (IDA) of the World Bank to borrow
SDR 50.4 million (US$ 75mm) as per the terms for the implementation of
second community development and livelihood improvement project.
Installation and operation of continuous GPS stations in Sri Lanka
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Environment and
Natural Resources Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka to install two GPS
stations accordingly in Palk seismic station in Kandy and in the
southern part of the country.

Installation of 172 M Transmitting Tower at Kokavil
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Mass media and
Information Minister and Investment Promotion and Enterprises
Development Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa to hand over the proposed
transmitting tower at Kokavil to the Army after separating and declaring
the place as a high security zone, and the administration, security and
maintenance of the tower to the Sri Lanka Army, enabling
telecommunication Regulatory Commission to invest on this project on
recoverable basis and to recover the additional expenditure incurred on
installing the tower form the institutions using this tower, enabling
the Army to recover the expenditure of security, maintenance and
administration of the tower form the intuitions using it and to handover
this installation project (Design and Build) to Central Engineering
Consultancy Bureau.
Abolition of Arts Council of Sri Lanka Act and enactment of the
National Arts Council of Sri Lanka Act
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by the Cultural
Affairs and National Heritage Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeygunawardena to
abolish the Arts Council of Sri Lanka Act No. 18 of 1952 and the Arts
Council, of Sri Lanka (Amendment) Act No.44 of 1987 and to refer the
same to the Legal Draftsman to prepare a new draft bill to be cited as
the National Arts Council of Sri Lanka Act and to table the said draft
bill in the Parliament for approval and enactment.
Project for the installation of Postal Network for the Post Office
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Posts and
Telecommunications Minister to implement the two stage building methods
in accordance with the instructions of the Section 3.10 of the
Procurement Guideline-2006, issued by the National Procurement Agency.
