President has cordial meetings with world leaders

Bilateral talks between President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Cuban President General Raul Castro were held yesterday evening.

President Castro thanked the Sri Lankan President for the support to Cuba at the UN Human Rights Council.

While reviewing the historical friendship between the two countries, the President appreciated the recent support given by Cuba to Sri Lanka to eradicate the dengue disease.

Areas of cooperation in the field of Science and Technology between the two countries were also discussed.

A discussion between South African President Jacoh Zuma and President Rajapaksa was also held. South African President Zuma thanked President Rajapaksa for the cooperation extended by him.

The South African leader also lauded the recent military victory over LTTE achieved under the direction of President Rajapaksa.

President Rajapaksa also met Malaysian Prime Minister Abdul Razak and discussed the possibility of investments in Sri Lanka.
