Lanka Aluminium Industries PLC, the country's premier manufacturer of
Aluminium Extrusions has developed a low-cost window system, ideally
suited for houses, which are planned to be built in the North and the
East for the resettlement of IDPs, Chairman, Lanka Aluminium Industries
Dinal Peiris said. He said that a window at low costs with basic metal
is complete with lock, handle and glass which can be fitted fast.

Many clients have already shown an interest in these products.
The window, apart from being low-cost, can be installed quickly on
site, within half an hour. It is also incorporated with an insect
screen, which reduces mosquito and other insects related deseases such
as malaria and dengue spreading in these areas, he said.
There are two basic windows, the first design which is more suitable
for bedrooms, while the large sliding window is more appropriate for
living and dining areas.
There are two finishes also being offered, one Anodized Coating
thickness as per British standard BS 1615 of 1987 and the other,
slightly more expensive Powder Coated finish.
Lanka Aluminium was the pioneer in powder coating.
Their extrusions are used in some of the foremost high-rise buildings
in the country. |
