Rs. 10 m robbery:

Three suspects arrested

Cash amounting to over Rs.10 million belonging to two Private Banks were robbed at gunpoint by an armed gang in Diyagampola, Kotadeniyawa on Tuesday night. However police were able to arrest three suspects within 24 hours and recover part of the stolen cash, Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said.

He said the gang clad in Police and Army uniform waylaid the armoured vehicle transporting the money. He said however, three robbers have been arrested from the area by police and part of the cash recovered along with a trishaw and a motorcycle.
