Cisco technology to maximize business opportunities

Sri Lanka has been one of the early technology adaptors in Asia. Sri Lanka has always used technology for economic development and it was the first country to launch the MPLS technology in 2002 with the telecom service providers.

With the current economic situation in Sri Lanka, technological applications will be more utilized, said the Vice President, Cisco Systems (India) (Pvt.) Ltd., Rajkumar Natarajan.

Cisco was set up in 1995 on a partnership agreement with one of the Sri Lankan partners. It serves different industries such as Banking and Finance, Telecom and Manufacturing.

“We focused mainly on information technology, banking and finance and telecommunication in Sri Lanka. This technology facilitates to maximize business opportunities and to fulfill the customer’s needs.

Several companies have deployed Cisco technology such as switching, routing and security and it delivers many facilities on the same network.

Cisco technology is used in building management. It adds value to their products and services while implementing innovative technology.

One of the other areas Cisco is looking at is public safety and security.

Cisco has made significant investments in Sri Lanka.

They have implemented the network academic program in the country. We work closely with Government institutions to educate them on the role, technology plays to help Sri Lanka reach better economic standards.

Our partners have made several requests to expand our services to the Northern and Eastern provinces. We have already received orders from several banks in those areas, he said.

The official launch of the “Branch of the future, the next generation Banking Solution” was held recently to introduce the new technology to the banking sector in Sri Lanka.
