Postal voting on July 27, 28

Postal voting in Local Government elections in Uva, Jaffna and
Vavuniya will be held on July 27 and 28, Additional Commissioner of
Elections W.P.Sumanasiri said. He said ballot papers to postal voters
will be issued from July 15 while applications for postal voting closed
on June 30.
Elections Department officials said they have received a large number
of applications from public servants for postal voting.
A total of 25,348 people are eligible to cast their votes by post. Of
this, 8,776 are from Moneragala, 16,054 from Badulla, 335 from Jaffna
and 183 from Vavuniya.
Poll cards are scheduled to be delivered to the relevant post offices
before July 21. Voters will be able to cast their votes upon production
of their National Identity card, identity cards issued to the clergy and
pensioneers, passport, identity card issued by the Social Services
Department to senior citizens and the temporary identity card issued by
the Elections Commissioner.
