Risk and ratings in the current economic climate
CIMA Sri Lanka Division will be hosting an evening discussion program
with RAM Ratings (Lanka) Ltd on the topic ‘Risk and ratings in the
current economic climate’ on July 16 at CIMA Sri Lanka Division
Auditorium at 5 p.m.
Credit flow in the global financial markets has reached an almost
standstill despite capital pumped in by governments and central banks.
What is the rootcause for this? How can financial instruments devised to
mitigate risk turn out to be the reason for financial turmoil and crisis
for many organisations?
Whilst commitment to transparency and better governance takes the
forefront, what other tools can management accountants deploy to avoid
such occurrences in future?
This session will cover essential elements of the global economic and
financial crisis and its impact on associated ‘risk’ of a company, the
internationally growing concern on credit risk, the role of securities
and credit default swaps, key concepts of corporate risk analysis and
credit rating.
The forum will also cover the importance of CIMA Strategic Scorecard
as an essential tool for Enterprise Governance especially during times
of economic meltdown.
Resource persons will be CEO, RAM Ratings (Lanka) Ltd, Adrian Perera
and Manager - Head of Rating, RAM Ratings (Lanka) Ltd Fran P. Jerome. |
