Gold jewellery unearthed in Puthukudiyiruppu

Security Forces continuing search and mopping up operations in the liberated areas in Mullaitivu unearthed another stock of gold jewellery, east of Puthukudiyiruppu on Thursday night.

"We believe that the LTTE cadres had forcibly taken the jewellery from civilians to be used in future in exchange of money," he added.

Brigadier Nanayakkara said the jewellery will be handed over to the owners after proper documentations were authorised.
