Nineteen Novel flu cases

The total number of Novel Flu A/H1N1 patients discovered after arriving in Sri Lanka has gone up to 19. Ten of them are males and the rest of them are females.

The youngest victim is a six-year-old boy who arrived from Australia and the eldest is a 54 year-old male who arrived from USA via UK, statistics released by the Epidemiology Unit of the Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry reveal.

According to the same statistics, majority (12) of them had arrived from Australia and three of them had come from USA. There were two patients who were transit passengers travelling from Hong Kong. One patient had come from Canada. An IDH spokesman said only four patients are still on treatment and two more patients are waiting to be diagnosed.

All the others had been completely cured and discharged from the hospital. The first patient was admitted to the IDH on June 14.
