LHP to launch cost-saving houses

Lankan Hume Pipes Company (Pvt) Ltd., (LHP) will introduce 60 percent cost saving houses that can be completed in one day with only four workers. Managing Director Jayantha Kumara said that a two bed roomed house of 1200sq ft will cost only Rs1.2 million for the buyers. Ten model houses will be built in Colombo and nearby areas for display initially targeting the employees in the garment sector, he said.

As the house is completed using pre-cast products, four workers can complete a house in one day and with no wastage of time, manpower and material. It saves a lot of money and the houses are of high standard and durable because the company uses the latest technology to manufacture its pre-cast products. The company is prepared to undertake building houses of same type for their customers once the project is launched in December this year.

LHP manufactures more than twenty products such as septic and water tanks, pre-cast products for irrigation, manholes, hand holes, telecom poles and cables.
