Brazil introduces hydrogen-powered buses
Brazil: The first hydrogen-fueled bus in Latin America, whose
main aim is to not emit harmful gases, will be experimentally presented
Wednesday in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo.
The 12-meter long bus with a 63 person capacity is a result of the
Brazilian Hydrogen Buses, developed by the Mining and Energy Ministry,
the Municipal Urban Transportation Company, and three Sao Paulo
entities, a press release from the Brazil News Agency reports.
According to the source, the plan came to fruition after three years
of discussions, at the cost of 31 million reales (about $15 million).
Four models of this kind will be produced by late 2010.
After this monitoring is approved, passengers could travel in this
new bus, the Brazilian News Agency stated. Brasilia, Prensa Latina |
