Easy win for Darmaloka

Sri Darmaloka Central College, Kelaniya beat Panadura Vidayalaya by eight wickets in their opening 50-over Under-17 cricket match played at Kelaniya recently.

S. Gayashan excelled with the ball claiming four wickets for 81 in 37.4 overs. Darmaloka made 92 for 2 wicket with Nalin Lakshman (28) and Thilanka Suboda (27) propping up the batting.

Panadura Vidayalaya 81 in 37.4 overs (D.A Prasad 21, S. Gayashan 4 for 23, T. A Suboda 2 for 3, N. Pathum 2 for 22).

Sri Darmaloka Central College 92 for 2 in 14.5 overs (Nalin Lakshman 28, T. A Suboda 27, C. Lakshitha 13, K.L.L Amarathunga 2 for 17).

STC in two victories

Fine half century by Captain Chamod Pathirana, 56, and a brilliant spell of bowling by right arm off spinner Umesh Fernando 4 for 18 helped Thomians to record an exciting win over St. Benedict's College, Kotahena in their Under-17 Division I first round cricket match played at Mt. Lavinia recently.

S. Thomas' College 162 in 42.2 overs (Chamod Pathirana 56, Anuja Fernando 17, Kavidu Perera 16, Eranga Ramanayake 3 for 30, Dilan Angelo 3 for 42).

St. Benedict's 100 for 9 in 37 overs (Jason Perera 22, Roy Shera 33, Umesh Fernando 4 for 18, Nilaksha Fernando 2 for 20, Shiven Perera 2 for 14).

S. Thomas College beat Padukka Central College in their Under-15, limited over cricket match played at S. Thomas College ground recently.

Deveen Jayasinghe (37), Ramith Gunathilake (31n.o) scored Madusha Ravichandrakumara (5 for 11), Danush Peiis (2 for 12) and Sri Nishanka (2 for 10)helped to won this match.

Padukka Central College 80 in 38.3 (T. Jayarathne 13, M. Liyanage 13, Madusha Ravichandrakumara 5 for 11, Danush Peiis 2 for 12, Sri Nishanka 2 for 10)

STC: 82 for in 14 overs (Deveen Jayasinghe 37, Ramith Gunathilake 31n.o, T. Jayarathne 3 for 36).

Ishan an unbeaten 174

Ishan Peiris of Moratu Vidyalaya hit up a sincilating unbeaten 174 runs in 140 balls with 19 hits to the rope and one over in their Inter-school Under-15 Division One Cricket Tournament match against St. Thomas' College, Kotte. Vidyalians were declared winners on Parabola system.

Batting first homesters piled up 295 for 3 in their allotted 50 overs. When rain stopped play visitors were 38 for 3. Vidyalians finished their first round matches with five wins and one no decision.

MMV: 295/3 in 50 overs (Ishan Peiris 174 n.o., Iresh Chamara 45 n.o., Ravindu Mendis 41).

STC: 38/3 in 24 overs.
