PIM develops SLASSCOM Managers
The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM)
having recognized management development (MD) as one of the important
determinants of organizational success, sought the assistance of the
Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) to formulate and conduct a
Postgraduate Certificate Course in Management (PCCM) for a batch of
thirty senior executives from member-companies of the Association. The
SLASSCOM recognizes that effective management provides the basis for
superior organizational performance.
The aim of the PCCM is to enable the participants to take a “systems
view” of their respective organizations, including a review of how major
functions affect each other. The program is considered as a process from
which participants learn and improve their skills that would contribute
to their personal advancement as well as to benefit the organization.
The PCCM consists of five modules, comprising Competitive Marketing,
Financial Analysis, People Management and Formulation of Business
Strategy.
The concluding stage would provide the participants an opportunity to
apply what they learnt in the previous sessions and address the issues
for strategy development in their organizations. The program was
inaugurated at the PIM on June 24, 2009.
Director, PIM, Dr. Uditha Liyanage, delivered the welcome address.
Centre Manager, Colombo, HSBC, and Board Member Mark Webster, SLASSCOM
delivered the inaugural address. |
