French officials meet Army Commander

The Commanding Officer of the combined French Forces in the Indian Ocean Zone Vice Admiral Jerad Challin and French Ambassador in Sri Lanka Michael Lumax called on Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka at the Army Headquarters yesterday.

They expressed appreciation on the Army Commander's dedicated commitment in the humanitarian operation Government launched in North recently.

They also congratulated him on his elevation to the new post. They exchanged views on mutual matters and on the current security situation in Sri Lanka. The French Commanding Officer also presented a memento to Army Commander Sarath Fonseka.
