Boost for Northern farmers under Uthuru Vasanthaya

Under the Uthuru Vasanthaya program, the Livestock Development Ministry has taken steps to uplift the living standards of farmer families in the Northern Province under the patronage of Livestock Development Minister R.M.C.B. Rathnayaka.

Ministry officials said they have divided the development programs into two parts. One is the 180-day short term program and the other is a medium term program. They have already started the 180-day program under the supervision of Livestock Development Ministry Secretary, Sunimal Senarathne.

They will establish 70 dairy farmer villages in Jaffna, Mannar, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu. They have also organised training programs to train dairy farmers in quality control methods.
