Seven-a-side soccer tourney at Gampaha

SoccerJets, an islandwide seven-a-side football tournament organized by the Jetliners Sports Club of Gampaha will be held at the Gampaha Urban Council grounds on June 27 and 28.

Winners will be awarded the tournament trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 while the runners-up will be given Rs. 20,000.

The tournament is open for any football team and registration to the competition will be done on a first-come-first-serve-basis between 9.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. on June 27 at the venue. Organizers say only 32 teams will be allowed to take part in the competition.

Apart from main prizes, the best player and the best goal-keeper will also be rewarded with cash prizes.
