Shasheendra to contest Uva PC

Kataragama Basnayake Nilame Shasheendra Rajapaksa, will contest the
forthcoming Uva Provincial Council elections.
Shasheendra, son of Minister Chamal Rajapaksa has several development
plans for Kataragama and the Moneragala District. He hopes to focus on
education, agriculture and road development.
"Education is the most important to develop a country. Public
cooperation is vital for the development of a country. Politicians
should be with the public always and not only during the election
period. A free meal for all students in the area will be given," he
said.
Improving business in the district is also very important. I have
several important plans under the Maga Naguma to develop business
activities in the district. After the completion of the Hambantota
harbour there will be employment for area youth," Shasheendra said.
A Rs. 16 million project to set up a museum for Kataragama is also in
the Kataragama development plan.
One of his main plans is also to cultivate more paddy fields in the
Hambantota district to provide employment to people.
Uva-Wellassa will be a developed area," he said.
