Iran sees Western role in post-election unrest

IRAN: Iran on Monday acccused the West of playing a role in fomenting unrest that has rocked the Islamic Republic since a disputed June 12 presidential election. "Spreading anarchy and vandalism by Western powers and also Western media...these are not at all accepted," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi told a news conference in comments translated by Iran's English-language Press TV.

"In many European countries and also in America, instead of inviting people to resort to democratic mechanisms...they support parts of the rioters," he said.
