UNP nominates for Jaffna MC

UNP Parliamentarian Dr. Jayalath Jayawardene yesterday handed over the party nomination list of the candidates contesting the upcoming Jaffna Municipal Council Election to Jaffna Returning Officer.

According to UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake MP, the party has decided to contest the forthcoming Vavuniya Urban Council election too and the nomination list will be handed over to the Vavuniya returning officer today or tomorrow.

He said the party list has accommodated people of all walks of life in Jaffna society.

A.A. Sachindran will contest for the Jaffna mayoral slot, Attanayake said.
