Navin and Tehani clinch Janashakthi squash titles
Navin Samarasinghe and Tehani Guruge clinched the coveted positions
of men's and women's open champions respectively at the 7th annual 'Janashakthi
Open Squash Championships' conducted by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation
(SLSF) which concluded recently.

Winners and runners-up in the different age groups received
Janashakthi trophies and certificates while the Squash Federation also
presented a 'Coaching VCD' to 100 junior participants at the awards
ceremony.
General Manager Sales and Marketing of Janashakthi Insurance PLC Ravi
Liyanage was chief guest at the finals and awards ceremony, with Head of
Marketing Paddy Weerasekera as guest of honour and other senior managers
in attendance.
President of the Squash Federation of Sri Lanka Oliver Guruge said
that his year's championships attracted more than 240 entries thus
establishing a record in the history of squash in Sri Lanka.
"This event was indeed a great success. Spectators were treated to
some great squash and brilliant performances of a very high standard,
especially with the participation of top ranked players, particularly
after the reconstituted national pool. This does augur well for the
future of squash in Sri Lanka," Guruge added.
