Medagoda new Commissioner General

E.M. Mahinda Medagoda has been appointed Commissioner General of Inland Revenue Department from yesterday. A student of Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, Medagoda showed exceptional performance at his school and the Peradeniya University where he obtained the Bsc Honorary degree.

He joined the Inland Revenue Department in 1976 as an assessor, and was promoted to the Senior Assessor Grade in 1986. Medagoda has extensive experience in the Co-operative Tax Unit where tax files of companies are handled. He has trained in Japan and Indonesia in the field of taxation and represented the country in a number of international seminars.
