And now garments at DECs

Trade, Marketing Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Services Minister Bandula Gunawardena said the Government will upgrade the Dedicated Economic Centres (DECs) in Ratmalana and Narahenpita enabling consumers to buy readymade garments and cloths in addition to food items at a cheaper rate and several trade stalls would be set up to sell readymade garments and cloths at retail and wholesale prices as a second phase of the project, he said.

"We will provide marketing facilities for local textile manufacturers across the country to sell their products at DECs in Ratmalana and Narahenpita. This would vastly benefit consumers in Colombo and suburbs to purchase their textile needs," the Minister said.

The Minister said that new trade stalls to sell textile items will be added to the DECs in Ratmalana and Narahenpita providing better service to consumers and manufacturers alike.
