Youth Ministry, Council and Congress join hands

The National Youth Services Council, Youth Affairs Ministry and the Sri Lanka Youth Congress have joined hands to support the rebuilding of the Northern Railway line under the Uthuru Vasanthayaproject by sponsoring the rehabilitation of the Murukkandi Temple Railway station.

The National Youth Services Council said arrangements have been made to collect funds for the rehabilitation work by organising walks by volunteers on a countrywide basis.

Youth will band themselves into 20 member groups and participate in these walks selling stickers valued at R. 20, Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 to the public. These walks are held in stages and the first stage was concluded at Kurunegala, Chilaw, Ratnapura and Seenigama on May 30 and the 2nd stage was completed at Anuradhapura, Badulla and Kataragama on June 5.

The NYSC warns the public to beware of bogus fundraisers trying to cash in on the Security Forces victory over terrorism.
