Traffic diversion in Colombo

Police Headquarters, Colombo has informed that the following roads will be closed for traffic on June 20 between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. in view of the felicitation ceremony for President Mahinda Rajapaksa to be held at the Independence Square, Colombo.

Entry will be prohibited to Independence Avenue from Bauddhaloka Junction. Vehicles proceeding from SLBC can use Kinsey Road and Horton Place. Vehicles from Kanatta Roundabout through Bauddhaloka Mawatha may use Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha, Reid Mawatha and Thurstan Road. Vidya Mawatha will be closed at Wijerama Road junction and vehicles may use Gregory’s Road, Wijerama Road and Bauddhaloka Mawatha.

Maitland Place will be closed at Maitland Road junction and vehicles may use Gregory’s Road, Wijerama Mawatha and Bauddhaloka Mawatha. Stretch of road between Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha and Sri Lanka Foundation Institute will be closed at the junction and such vehicles may use Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha and Reid Mawatha or Bauddhaloka Mawatha.
