N Korea reacts to UN resolution

N Korea: North Korean replied on Saturday to a resolution by the UN Security Council with the announcement that it will use its plutonium to make weapons, and enrich uranium.

The North Korean Foreign Ministry's declaration rejects resolution 1874 the UN Council passed Friday, and stressed it is the result of the US offensive against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Washington's objective, it added, is to eliminate the system chosen by the North Korean people, disarming it and asphyxiating it economically.

The UN resolution responded to the second nuclear test the country conducted on May 25 and the launching of a three-stage rocket on April 5. There will never be real peace without independence and equity, the text added, after reiterating that the country had decided to have nuclear arms due to the US hostility and threats against it. Pyongyang also announced it will react militarily if the US and its allies try to block it, considering it a warmongering act.
