Pirith ceremonies to bless Police personnel

All Police Stations in the country conducted Pirith ceremonies on Saturday night and Alms Giving to the Maha Sangha yesterday to bless Police personnel who sacrificed their lives and Police personnel who were injured in the war.

On a concept of Inspector General of Police Jayantha Wickremaratne the ceremonies were held countrywide yesterday.

The main ceremony was held in Colombo Police Welfare building, Pettah with the participation of IGP Jayantha Wickremaratne, Colombo DIG H.M. Herath, Colombo Central Senior SP Samaraweera and several other DIGs, Senior SPs and other members of the Police division in Colombo.

Kelaniya University Chancellor Ven. Welimitiyawe Kusaladhamma Nayake Thera administered Pansil.
