BASL welcomes new CJ's appointment

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) whole heartedly welcome the appointment of Justice Asoka de Silva as the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka said the BASL Secretary Udaya R. de Silva.

The Bar Association's confident that the Supreme Court under the leadership of the Chief Justice will ensure the adherence to the Rule of Law, the independence of the Judiciary and that every citizen of this country will have equal protection of the law and will be treated alike. The Bar Association will continue to do its part in this endeavour, the BASL Secretary said.

He emphasised that the Bar Association extends its best wishes to Chief Justice, Justice Asoka de Silva and extends its fullest support and cooperation in the discharge of his duties.
