K Sivanesan rendered great service to country

Leader of the House and Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva yesterday stated in Parliament that late TNA MP K. Sivanesan was a humble politician who rendered a great service to the country.

Moving the condolence motion on late TNA MP K. Sivanesan, the Minister said MP K. Sivanesan was a popular figure among the people of Jaffna.

He started his career as an accountant. He was later elected to Parliament representing the Jaffna district. Sivanesan was a very talented and capable politician who served the people to the best of his ability during his political life.

Unfortunately, he was killed from a claymore attack in Mulaitivu.

His death was a irreparable loss to the democratic process. We convey our condolences to his family, he said.

Chief Opposition Whip Joseph Michael Perera said TNA MP K. Sivanesan helped to build a good relationship between the Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities.
