The Mother Sri Lanka schools program, implemented on behalf of Mother
Sri Lanka Foundation by the Ministry of Education and the TERM unit, is
a competition among schoolchildren to debate and begin a dialogue on the
theme 'What can children of Sri Lanka give back to our country'.
Chairperson of Mother Lanka program, Janaki Kuruppu said that similar
to the courageous feats of our armed forces, every citizen has a role to
play in our country's development. To change our country we must first
change ourselves. The main purpose of this competition is to inspire
children to participate in the development of the country and through
them their parents and communities to think that we can make a change in
Sri Lanka.
Several leading institutions in the corporate sector are assisting
this program and many other companies have expressed interest to be part
of this national project.
