Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Healthcare and Nutrition
Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva to purchase 20 ambulances from Micro
Cars.
Amendment of National Environmental Act No.47 of 1980
Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Environment and Natural
Resources Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka to include the new chapter
of Natural Environmental Act No.47 of 1980 as amended to provide for
management of the said levy fined and prosecute defaulters and expand
the duties and functions of the Central Environment Authority.
Construction of 100,000 houses
Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Construction and
Engineering Services Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne to direct all
ministries to submit details of housing projects proposed by them which
would be included under this local package to the Secretary, Ministry of
Construction and Engineering Services in order to facilitate the
preparation of the comprehensive feasibility report by the China
Shanyang International Economic and Technical Cooperation Corporations
to be submitted to the China Exim Bank and appoint a TEC and CANC to
negotiate on the total cost estimates and the contract terms.
Henarathgoda old railway station
Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Transport Minister Dullas
Alahapperuma to use old Henarathgoda Railway Station Building for the
Department of Archaeology Gampaha regional office.
Amendment to the Consumer Affairs Act No.9 of 2003
Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Trade, Marketing
Development, Co-operatives and Consumer Services Minister Bandula
Gunawardena to forward all needed amendments of the Act for the
consideration of the Legal Draughtsman, thereby made to protect traders
and manufactures against unfair trade practice and restrictive trades
practices.
Formulation of national regulations - maritime
Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Ports and Aviation
Minister Chamal Rajapaksa to instruct the legal draughtsman to formulate
national legislation for the International Maritime Conventions in order
to enhance safety of life and property at sea and to prevent pollution
of the oceans.
Recruitment to SL Principals Service 2-11
Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Education Minister Susil
Premajayantha to absorb in Grade 2-11 all the officers who are qualified
for Grade 2-11 from the officers who were recruited on January 1, 2002
to Class 3 of Sri Lanka Principals’ Service.
Uthuru Wasanthaya
Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Power and Energy Minister
W.D.J. Seneviratne to implement the plan of action on a fast track basis
by the adoption of the methodology, to authorize and direct the CEB to
set off amount to the ESCROW Account, for which funds have been provided
for rehabilitation for power lines in the North.
Land for hotel project
Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by Enterprises Development
and Investment Promotion Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa to lease land
from KEPZ on a 50 years lease to Suchirindia Hotel and Resorts.
Delegation of Authority Cabinet approved a Memorandum submitted by
Education Minister Susil Premajayanth to delegate authority to the
Secretary, Ministry of Education for taking action relating to
confirmation in services, promotions, exemption from efficiency bar
tests, extensions of service and retirements of the offices in Class I
and Grade 2-1 in Sri Lanka Principals’ service.
