Thomian swimmers champions

S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia swimmers emerged champions with 1273 points to Royal College 1173 points at the two day inaugural dual Royal-Thomian swimming meet concluded on Wednesday night at the Thomian swimming pool Mount Lavinia. The swimming dual was similar to annual Royal-Thomian Regatta and the Dr. R.L. Hayman Waterpolo Tournament.

The focus on the swimming meet was to encourage team participation and was jointly organised by both schools. Furthermore the meet was a warm up for the Sri Lanka Schools Swimming Championships to be held from June 11 to 14 at the Sugathadasa Stadium pool.

Thomians won the titles in four age categories under-9, under-11, under-13 and under-15 while Royal won the under-17 and under-19 age categories at the two day dual.

Old Boys Relay Championships under-40 and over-40 was won by the Thomians.
