National swimming squad to be formed

Gamini Lokuge, Minister of Sports and Public Recreation together with Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Agriculture, Agrarian Services and the Chairman of the Interim Committee, Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) has instructed Kiran Atapattu, Secretary Interim Committee SLASU to make arrangements to form a national swimming squad as early as possible and to provide them coaching programme with the national swimming coaches.

On the directive of two Ministers Kiran Atapattu who is also the Secretary/Treasurer Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Rugby Union has not wasted much time. He will meet the SLASU committee members and the members of the selection committee to plan and hold a trial amongst the standard swimmers after the Sri Lanka Schools Swimming meet to be held from June 11 to 14.
