Donations for war heroes

A special ceremony was held at the Defence, Public Security, Law and Order Ministry yesterday to donate equipment for disabled war heroes. M. Indika Yapa along with his family who are expatriates living in Qatar made the donation to the valiant troops disabled while serving their motherland.

Defence Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa received the donation of five wheel-chairs five arm crutches and five sholder crutches from Indika Yapa and Muditha Ranasinghe. The donations were subsequently handed over to the Army Hospital.

Defence Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit Secretary Indu Rathnayake along with Pushpa Indra Gunathunga, Sunil Keerthi Yapa, Padmini Samanlatha Wijayasooriya and Nalinda Sampath Ariyarathne were also present at the event.
