Ananda and Maris Stella in convincing wins
Ananda College and Maris Stella College Negombo joined the
quarter-final line up with convincing victories in the inter school
under 20 Twenty20 cricket tournament matches worked off yesterday.
Ananda College defeated their traditional rivals Nalanda College by
58 runs at Ananda Mawatha while Maris Stella College had the better of
Maliyadeva College Kurunegala by 62 runs at Kurunegala.
Ananda College will now take on Prince of Wales College while Maris
Stella College will be up against D. S. Senanayake College in the
quarterfinals. In addition Mahinda College will confront Dharmasoka
College Ambalangoda and Royal will meet St. Peter's College with all
matches scheduled to be worked off at the De Soysa Stadium in Moratuwa
on May 13 and 14. The two semifinals will be worked off on May 15 with
the final schedule on the following day.
