Attack on SL Mission in the Netherlands:

Lanka calls complete investigation

Sri Lanka yesterday called for a complete investigation into the attack on its mission in the Netherlands by a group of LTTE sympathisers in the wee hours of yesterday and expressed hope that perpetrators be brought to book immediately. .

According to a Foreign Ministry spokesman, the window panes of the Embassy have been damaged by this group after their attempt to enter the embassy premises failed. The attackers have managed to flee the area after police rushed to the scene.

He said the officials of the Sri Lankan mission has condemned the attack and requested the Dutch Foreign Ministry to beef up the security and ensure the safety of the mission staff.

The Dutch police started recording statements from the eyewitnesses and fingerprints have already been taken.
