More qualify to do Advanced Level

An analysis report of the performance of students at the 2008 G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination will be released after the results of the deferred examination for students in some areas in the North are published, the Education Ministry said.

There has been a rapid increase in the progress of results from 1997 to 2008 according to surveys conducted by the Education Department on the percentage of passes in Mathematics, Science and English.

Based on this analysis, the department expects a still higher performance at the last G.C.E. (O/L) examination.

The following table gives the percentage of students who have qualified to attend Advanced Level classes on the results of the G.C.E. (O/L) qualifications by 2008.
