Dengue kills eight in Hambantota

Eight suspected dengue patients have died in the Hambantota district so far following the spread of the disease which originated in Tangalle recently.

Among them were six from Tangalle and one each from Puhulyaya and Wadigala.

Altogether 130 suspected cases have been reported from the Hambantota district from April 1 to May 10. Of them 70 were from Tangalle, 15 from Walasmulla, 40 from Beliatta and five from Weeraketiya.

They are receiving treatment at the Matara and Karapitiya hospitals.
