Dialog launches SmartHome
Dialog Broadband Networks launched SmartHome, an all-in-one
communication solution for households. SmartHome is a simple and cost
effective communication solution that integrates voice, broadband
internet and email into a single package.
SmartHome is a convergence of technology and offers a multitude of
benefits for the domestic internet and fixed voice-line user. The
ability to connect a fax line to the SmartHome system is another
advantage of this communication solution. SmartHome gives the customer
the convenience of a single bill for total voice, broadband internet and
email services, and this comes in addition to the cost benefits offered
through the SmartHome connection.
"Convergence is about building simple yet effective solutions, and
this is what SmartHome presents to users - a single communications
device that takes care of your every need," said Chief Operating Officer
of Dialog Fixed-Telephony and Broadband Services Suren Goonewardene.
Customers could choose from two SmartHome packages; SmartHome and
SmartHome Plus, and enjoy internet speeds of up to 512 Kbps and 1Mbps.
The video feature on SmartHome voice adds a whole new dimension to
standard voice communication. It is designed to enhance the
user-experience allowing them see who they speak with, like a video-call
on mobiles. SmartHome voice has a host of value-added features including
call forwarding, call return, call waiting and three-way calling. Dialog
Broadband Networks offers a single contact point for troubleshooting and
maintenance, plus, round-the-clock, technical support throughout the
year.
Good grooming begins with preventing body odour
Affinity for hair care, clothing and grooming are popular interests
among Sri Lankan youth, but one area that is generally overlooked is
under arm hygiene, according to the research findings conducted by
Unilever Sri Lanka's Rexona anti-perspirant deodorant.
The findings reveal that approximately only three percent of Sri
Lankans use a deodorant or anti-perspirant with consumption growing only
gradually. This indicates that there is a low awareness among Sri
Lankans about the negative aspects of sweating. The process of sweating
alone itself is completely natural, but over a period of a few hours,
this wetness, combined with body heat, offers an optimum breeding ground
for bacteria. The respiratory waste of these microscopic organisms in
turn is the cause for the offensive smell - which we commonly refer to
as body odour.
"This scientific process is a common misconception amongst
consumers", said Beauty Consultant, Salon Gayathri, Gayathri Dias. "Even
a bath or a shower is not a guarantee that we are completely 'safe' from
the embarrassing problem of body odour that we experience in buses,
trains, gymnasiums, tuition classes, crowded shopping complexes or any
public place for that matter" she said.
Women, because of their biological formation, tend to sweat more when
under stress or triggered emotionally, while men tend to sweat more when
they are physically active. Yet, general levels of hygiene, the usage of
scented products such as perfumes and talc are options that are resorted
to by the market, in its attempt to maintain freshness.

Heladiv, a leading tea manufacturer in the country won a gold metal
in the Non-Traditional Media category for their creative and innovative
tea packaging design done by Triad at the recently concluded Chillies

The entry caught the eye of the jury and their special commendation
due the fact that a very simple retail insight has created the

the pack shout out on the shelf. This packaging has the additional
dimensions of using recycled bulk tea packing as the primary material
and the unique conical shape which has proven to be a revolution in

within while minimizing air vacuums as is prevalent in conventional
square packaging. Being a 100 per cent environmentally packaging design,
as "ying-yang" packaging, it offers a convenient, space saving solution
for display. For the consumer, it offers the added benefit of buying in
small measure and re-using due to its special plug-lid feature.

expressed his satisfaction in winning Gold for the "Gotta" in the
packaging category and Silver for the "Ice Tea Strainer" in the

Abans introduces LG X Series 3G Netbook
The LG X110 is the next step in technical evolution from the smart
phone, featuring trendy design and embedded with 3G HSPA connectivity.
The 3G embedded features combined with WLAN 802.11 b/g and 10/100
Ethernet for stable and fast connections means that users can
communicate and share information anytime, anywhere, any place. Wherever
you may roam, you are always online.
Unless you live in a country with Wi-Fi coverage as extensive as
mobile services, chances are your Netbook is not likely to get any
Internet action outside your home or office. It can certainly become
very frustrating when you have to wait for five minutes or more for an
email to load or retrieve important files in a hurry. The LG X110 also
differentiates itself from other competitors with advanced features such
as a five-fold increase in storage capacity through its 160GB hard disk
drive and its modern and chic design. |
