Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2009

Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2009 will be inaugurated on June 30 at the Cinnamon Grand, with the technical sessions being held from July 1-2 marks the 10th anniversary of this forum.

The Sri Lanka Economic Summit is renowned for its timely themes and hard-hitting topics. Organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the summit continues to attract eminent speakers, political leaders and diplomats for the technical sessions (including panel discussions) as well as key-note speakers at the inauguration.

This year the summit will have a range of topics under the theme: "Uncertain Times- Opportunity or Challenge". Among them are: "Impact of the Economy and Planning in a Downturn", Financial Crisis - Challenges for the Banking and Financial Sector, Agriculture, Fisheries and Dairy Sector- Opportunities for the private Sector, North East Accelerated Socio and Economic Development, Meltdown and Impact on Employment", Building on ICT and English Sri Lanka as a "Knowledge Economy", Governance: Challenges for the Public and Private Sector and 2020 Vision for Sri Lanka - A Discussion with young Parliamentarians.
