Three nabbed with fake currency

Police seized fake currency notes to the value of Rs. 66,000 and arrested three suspects in Wilgamuwa area, Matale yesterday morning.

Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said police arrested the three when they were exchanging the fake money with genuine notes in the Wilgamuwa area. Around 33 forged notes of Rs. 2,000 were seized from the suspects' possession, he added.

He said all notes were printed bearing the same number P/6285527.
