'TNA MP will also be rescued'

If Tamil National Alliance MP Sathasivam Kanagaratnam is trapped in the No Fire Zone, he will be rescued along with other civilians by troops engaged in the final phase of the hostage rescuing mission.

Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said there were reports in the media that TNA MP Kanagaratnam was trapped in the NFZ and he had contacted his colleagues.

"We have no idea what means he used to reach his colleagues of the TNA", citing the reports he said.

However, he asserted that troops advancing further towards south of the NFZ in its mission will rescue MP Kanagaratnam if troops found him trapped along with other civilians.
